Yes. Charleston County's application is 100% online — no in-person appointment required. Both partners submit information and upload a valid photo ID through the county's online portal and pay the $70 fee directly to the county (Elopements Inc. cannot obtain the license on your behalf). South Carolina requires the application to be on file 24 hours before the license is issued, and Charleston County emails the license two business days after a completed application, so apply several days before your ceremony — most couples apply from home before they travel.

Spring (March–May) is ideal with azaleas in bloom and mild temperatures. Fall (September–November) is equally beautiful with cooler weather. Summer is hot and humid but the lush greenery is stunning.

We offer elopements at Hampton Park and Cypress Gardens. Hampton Park features a beautiful urban garden setting, while Cypress Gardens offers a dramatic lowcountry swamp garden with Spanish moss and blackwater reflections.

Our packages accommodate up to 10 guests with the Getaway Plus Package or up to 20 guests with Friends and Family packages at both Hampton Park and Cypress Gardens.

Our two Charleston elopement venues are Cypress Gardens (Lowcountry swamp gardens with Spanish moss — yes, the location from The Notebook) and Hampton Park (urban garden in the historic district). Both are fully permitted and included in our packages from $1,275.

To elope in SC: (1) book your venue and package, (2) both partners apply online through the Charleston County Probate Court's marriage license portal — the process is 100% online with no in-person appointment ($70 paid directly to the county; Elopements Inc. cannot obtain the license for you; the application must be on file 24 hours before the license is issued, and it arrives by email two business days later), (3) upload a valid photo ID and provide Social Security numbers, and (4) hold your ceremony with a licensed SC officiant. Elopements Inc. coordinates timing so the license is in hand on ceremony day.

South Carolina has no residency requirement, and Charleston County's marriage-license application is 100% online — neither partner appears in person. Apply from home, pay the $70 fee to the Probate Court, and allow for the 24-hour wait before the license is issued plus two business days for it to arrive by email. No witnesses are required — the officiant signs the license.

Hampton Park is the in-city choice: live oaks and rose gardens, from $1,275, with a Friends and Family Plus option ($1,975, three hours) that adds a Rainbow Row and Waterfront Park photo session. Cypress Gardens, 25 minutes away in Moncks Corner, is the blackwater cypress swamp from The Notebook, from $1,575, with a $2,575 Weekend Package for Friday–Sunday dates.

Every Charleston elopement package includes the venue and its permit, a licensed South Carolina officiant, a professional photographer with 100–250 edited high-resolution photos in a shareable online gallery, ceremony coordination and step-by-step guidance through Charleston County's online marriage license. Optional add-ons are videography ($675–$1,475) and RAW files ($200–$300); nothing else is upsold.
